Welcome to Borderland Food Tours, with guide and local Borderland lass Katrina & her Edinburgh born husband, William.

Having owned & run the multi award winning restaurant with rooms at the Allanton Inn in the Scottish Borders for 15 years, Katrina & William know what is good locally and have already spent years proudly & passionately showcasing the Borderlands to their guests. They have been recognised as huge supporters of local agritourism & sourcing local produce for the restaurant. Now it’s time to share with visitors first-hand what a fascinating, historic, tasty, and beautiful place the Borderlands are! Discover the people, places & stories behind the locally produced food & drink while exploring the beautiful agricultural landscapes & heritage.

The Borderlands are one of the most rural and historically important regions in the UK. The history is vast and full of intrigue, its past and present interwoven into the landscapes & life today. Book one of our Borderland Food Tours and experience the true feeling & taste of life living on the Eastern Borderlands. Our Borderland food tours cover North Northumberland on the English side & the Eastern Scottish Borders on the Scottish side and feature a wonderfully unique opportunity to eat, learn and discover the best of the Borderlands, share in our secrets.

A selection of small group tours are offered April-November (private bespoke tours can be made by prior arrangement). The tours (where stated) will be chauffeur driven in a comfortable, luxury minibus with several stops throughout the tour.

Borderlands Tours HQ is based in the small conservation village of Allanton in Berwickshire where guests can enjoy a 20% discount on any accommodation bookings at the Allanton Inn if they wish to extend their visit in the Borderlands or take more than one tour.

Staying at the award winning Allanton Inn, guests will be spoilt for choice with meals that showcase the best local produce from the surrounding Borderlands. The Allanton Inn won Best Eating Experience in the South of Scotland by Visit Scotland, October 2023.
