What are the Borderlands?
The Borderlands are some of the most historically distinctive and richly fertile regions in the UK making it a large food producing area. The beautiful rolling agricultural countryside & the sweeping coast are both picturesque & embedded with stories & legends of the past interwoven into the present day & the production of our food & drink.
Where are the Borderlands?
The Eastern Borderlands where we located, are easily accessed by road & train, being approximately 1 hour from both Edinburgh & Newcastle (less on the train) and we comprise of the Scottish Borders in Scotland & North Northumberland in England. The Eastern Borderlands straddle England & Scotland with the River Tweed forming a natural border.
What to expect?
Fabulous local food & drink will be sampled throughout the tours, connecting food to the local lands, waters & people. With accompanying history, sightseeing, local information and facts told by the people who know it best, local Borderland folk.

Having owned & run the multi award winning restaurant with rooms at the Allanton Inn in the Scottish Borders for over 14 years, Katrina & William know what is good locally and have already spent years proudly & passionately showcasing the Borderlands to their guests. Your local guides offer a selection of informal, small group (maximum of 14) guided day tours of North Northumberland and the Eastern Scottish Borders between April and November.
